I've been a fan of The Beatles for as long as I can remember. I've spent the best part of 40 years listening to their music and abosrbing it so that it's probably now part of my DNA. As soon as I could afford it, I went and bought all the vinyl records; the Albums, Singles and EPs. When the CDs finally came out [the delay it was stated, caused by a need to get the quality right] I bought them all again. I bought the remaster of Yellow Submarine, the un Spector'd version of "Let It Be" and the 40th anniversary edition of the "White" album. Add in the Anthology book, videos and DVDs plus sundry other reissues, I think that over the years I've given Mssrs Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr [and not to mention EMI, Sony AND the late and not so great Michael Jackson] more than enough of my monies. So frankly, despite all the promises of "new and improved" sound quality and careful "remastering" I shall be avoiding the over-priced new box set. They said that home taping was killing music. They now say that digital filesharing is killing music. No what's killing music is the record company's constant remilking of their cash-cows like this. I'll wait for them to fall off the back of an interweb. It's not like any of them need the money.

Totally agreed. I'm happy enough with the cds I have. Though the box IS pretty :)
I tend to disagree (as usual). It's been 22 years (count 'em) since the original releases. If they re-released them every five minutes, I'd be in more agreement.
My pre-order is in at £134 for the box, which, if I'm not mistaken, is significantly less per album than the 'old' editions have ever been on sale for here in blighty. And it's in a shiny shiny box, too. I don't feel hard done by at all by the re-issues.
